Martha's Moms Rowing Club
About Us
Martha’s Moms is an all-women’s crew based at Lake Washington Rowing Club (LWRC), where we train with purpose and show up ready to compete. This is our home water and where we put in the work that makes race day count.
We have our own fleet of boats, from doubles to eights, and dedicated coaches who push us to be stronger, faster, and more precise every season.
With dual membership at LWRC, our rowers have access to additional classes, equipment, and gym facilities; more tools to build speed, power, and endurance. This provides us the opportunity to train together both on and off the water, and utilize the training plans our coaches provide.
We compete in both sculling and sweep events, embracing the full challenge of the sport. Our training focuses primarily on sweep boats, where sharp timing, technical focus, and total team commitment turn effort into boat speed.

Our History
Martha’s Moms was born in 1984, when a simple question sparked something extraordinary. A group of Lakeside mothers asked coach Martha Beattie to create a women’s rowing program and in doing so, launched a legacy that continues to thrive today.
What began as a small, determined crew has grown into one of the region’s most respected masters rowing programs. For over four decades, Martha’s Moms has shown that you don’t have to choose between competing at a high level and belonging to a truly supportive community. You can have both.
We have carried each other to podium finishes at local, regional, national, and international regattas. We regularly line up at iconic races including Opening Day, Northwest Regionals, Masters Nationals, the Head of the Charles, and many beloved local events.
Our Team Leaders
Our captains and coaches are the guiding force behind our team. They bring experience, perspective, and a deep commitment to helping each rower grow while strengthening the crew as a whole.
